I took CubicleSoft’s SSO system, configured it to match my needs, redesigned the UI to be much nicer, and in the end added some convenience features, such as the ability to sign in using one-time email codes.

This relatively insane dedication resulted in three major pieces of software for these calculators: I learned C and a lot about embedded systems and reverse-engineering (the calculator OS) in the process.

At some point I stop enjoying working on one project as much as I did, and I put it aside - and sometimes leave it there for eternity… Major projectsįor at least three years, the graphic calculator I used through high school was my main development target. Sometimes, that results in a relatively polished product other times, just feature creep. When I really like a project of mine, I tend to spend a lot of time on it, often leaving my other projects and good intentions behind. In other words, your average programmer dilemmas. Sometimes, the problem they were trying to solve ends up not being a problem at all, or at some point I find out someone came up with a much better solution. Some of my ideas are so ambitious that I never find enough time or motivation to work on them. Save yourself the headache and disbelief, and get the TI-89, you'll thank yourself when you go to program an equation into it.Some of my projects are unoriginal, others are original but not very useful, and a big number of them never get to be more than good intentions.

This is not a calculator for those of you who actually use math in a practical application.

It's worth it, to buy more expensive non-lithium batteries (if you want an accurate battery readout).

The one thing that I don't like is that it really uses them batteries.

The only exception is if you are going deep in to structural matrix analysis, FEM or you are doing a masters in a high level math subject, in that case you may prefer to buy an HP 50g.

If you are a civil engineering student, I would recommend the Prism CG-10 (or 20) calculator for most applications.

The indicator also lets you know when your batteries are getting low. It doesn't use any proprietary batteries, so you can replace those AAAs with little hassle.

Removable batteries and a battery indicator.However the Prizm does support the use of rechargeable individual Ni-MH batteries if you really want to use rechargeable batteries.
